OKAY i just listened into some FM stations and I am getting an echo there too, but not as bad as with the NOAA signals. just listened now and it sounds like there is an echo? the signal rates are 11025 which I think is right. The signal in SDR# is very obvious, but i was using the virtual cable and never just listened. I have used a couple different gains, and it only changes the clarity of the images in the pattern, the pattern is still there. freeware worked before, not sure what's different now? i'll try uninstalling and rebooting and installing fresh but doesn't seem to work so far. A folder with two txt files was made and that's all. I just uninstalled and reinstalled WXTOIMG from the site you sent and nothing happened. I am just trying to get the software working before i get into antenna construction, would be hell to troubleshoot both at the same time, at least with something i build heh i don't think i changed any settings in sdr# from last time, mayyyybe sample rate but I tried different settings there and got no better results, but i did get different results. i am using the same equipment and software as before. Now this week i am in the valley (10km away) from the last spot, only obstacle i see is a building to the north, otherwise 360 view of the sky. this was may 2019, i was in the woods and had to hold the antenna until i saw the strongest signal, i lost the signal completely a few times but was able to decode the image correctly. The image with the laptop next to the antenna was just a shot of the gear used! no worries there. I'll try to reply to both your comments here. In contrast, the Planar Disk is almost free and it performs quite well in an indoor setting. Just because an antenna "is sold" does not mean its good or even marginal. Please verify your dongle is working with a good antenna before complaining that you cannot receive something. Here is a great, broadband Planar Disk Antenna that outperforms most commercial antennas of similar size for under $65-75 and can be built in a half hour or less by beginners with less than $10 in parts.
